I'm so sorry this is coming so late. As many of you know we were originally going to have a picnic in the parque Ducale, I still hope we get to do that before it gets too hot, however I found out a few days ago that there is a festival being held in the park that day so I've put the picnic on hold.
I've scheduled the Meetup day for Saturday as not to conflict with Cris's BarBQ/ House Party, but now we'll be meeting in this awesome cafe I've found outside of Parma in Sant'Ilario.
Now your probably wondering what about this cafe is so awesome? Well let me first share with you some of the issues we've recently encountered. When trying to organize these Meetups we, the organizers, face many challenges. First, we need to find someplace thats easy to get to. It needs to be relatively easy to access for those of you who take the train, but have ample parking for those who drive. Second, it needs to be large enough to accommodate our size. Our group has grown quite a bit recently and it's always a challenge to find a space large enough (and willing) to accommodate everyone and allow for the noise. And finally, with summer fast approaching it's getting really uncomfortable to be inside and many of you have requested a spot with an outdoor patio or terrace.
Drum roll please.........
The cafe Villa Giulia is a five minute walk from the Sant'Ilario train station for those of you who decide to take the train (about 10 minutes by train from both the Parma and Reggio stations). YOU CANNOT GET LOST!!! You leave the station and walk up the Via Antonio Gramsci till it ends on the Via Roma and your in front of the cafe. The 17:00 starting time should make it easy for those taking the train to get to the Meetup and home again after (If you can drive or are able to join in a carpool I highly recommend that as the Meetups are always a lot of fun and its really a pain to have to leave in the middle of the fun to make the last train).
If it rains the meetup is still on, we'll just move inside!
